Neutral Boutique Rugs

Not sure if you follow me and my crazy household but I have 3 young boys and 2 large dogs and despite my best efforts, they destroy ALL OF IT! There was a mishap recently that resulted in our living room rug leaving in the back of the garbage truck a few weeks ago and we’ve been without since. It’s awful! Having partnered with Boutique rugs prior and trusting the quality of their products, I reach out and explained the situation. Luckily, they agreed to work with me again and now the house is back to feeling warm and cozy with the help of their Greig Rug!

Why Boutique Rugs?

Quite honestly, I loved the quality of the rug I got for my foyer so much and you really can’t beat their prices! Code EMMAGRACE gets you an extra 10% off too. My exact rug in 9×12 would be over $400 and ends up being $377! They have a large selection of rug sizes, styles, types; including washable rugs with free shipping and free 60 day returns and they even have home accents too!

The Selection Process…

When choosing an area rug, you have to think about all of your factors; environment, location, usage etc…Viscose is not suitable if you have pets or children. It wears quickly and can lose its luster. Some natural rugs aren’t good in direct sunlight, as they can fade, other materials don’t handle stains well and so on. I have dogs and kids so shag and jute are a no go for us right now. I like a lower pile rug that’s still comfortable and easy to clean.

I also have an extremely neutral palette in the house with very light linen [warm] walls and a gray [cool] couch. We have lots of black metals and wood tones so I needed to find a solution that would tie it all in nicely. Boutique Rugs has such a great selection of neutrals! For those who don’t know, “greig” is a combo of grey and beige. Typically a great choice for someone trying to balance both tones, like myself.

My Selection…

Greig is a part of the PSS selection.

Boutique Rugs uses a 2 in 1 formula that doesn’t require rug pads, but if you want to use one or keep it in place, I have a few suggestions for you. I did not opt for the rug pad, but I did buy these grips to hold them in place. This was more because my kids and dogs are always running all over and I don’t want the rug getting ruined.

Size Selection…

When thinking about the size of your area rug, you should make sure that the front legs of your furniture can fit on it and I personally think it should extend out the sides a bit too; enough for a side table to fit on.

Our “middle room” or “unconventional sitting room” is connected to our family room and while in the past, I haven’t matched the rugs, I decided to take a risk this time and get the same rug for both areas. It definitely works to tie the two spaces together vs making them appear as two different rooms. The round rug compliments the space and allows for a nice flow of traffic, while balancing the rectangular shape of the family room rug. You can shop living room rugs here.

A rug is an integral part to creating the vibe for a room. It adds warmth, character and can really speak to your style. It’s a great way to tie elements of your home together and anchor the space.  Make sure to think about all of your environmental factors and choose one that showcases your personality! As always, thanks for being here and I hope this helped you make a decision! Make sure to subscribe to get all of my posts first!
